  • The rebrand of the most watched media brand in the Netherlands: public news broadcaster NOS, became a daring and prestigious design project that we took on together with production company Avi-Drome.The NOS is the main news broadcaster in the Netherlands with 24 hour newsfeeds on TV, radio, internet and mobile. It reaches over 40% of the Dutch population on a daily basis, with the eight o’clock news as the most popular and most watched news program (avg. market share 32%) in the Netherlands. 
  • To be ready for the future and stay ahead of the competition the NOS had to reinvent itself. The NOS viewing audience (TV) is getting older (quickly) and a restyle of the identity was necessary to refresh the image of the NOS. The purpose of the rebrand is to attract a younger audience.

    In short, the objectives of the rebrand were:
    Establish the NOS brand by creating a strong and clear brand hierarchy.
    Strongly sign the individual programs with NOS branding with a clear focus on the specific genre and theme of each program. 
    Create a transparent, clear, consistent graphic information system. 
    Give meaning to: Always. Everywhere. NOS
  • The NOS provides you complete and truthful news stories. The distinctiveness of the NOS is based on it’s reliable way of gathering and distributing news stories and information that give you relevant and meaningful insights. These insights make you understand the world around you a little better. That’s why we have defined the NOS as: Starting point of your news and information. To translate this proposition into design we have created a visual identity that shows relevance and urge in a dynamic way. Each program starts with a short NOS opener that creates and reveals the red O that builds up in relation to the specific theme and genre of the different programs. This system allows to establish the NOS corporate brand within a program specific creative carrying it’s own feel. In total we have created 12 different packages.
